475 miles and 31,000 feet of climbing in the beautiful Colorado Rockies

Near Austin, Nevada, there was a sign warning that the road was slippery for
the next 14 miles. The reason? A plague of locusts (aka, Mormon Crickets).
The road was literally crawling with them, and the highway department had had
to use a snowplow to clear a path through them the day before. Glad I wasn't
riding my bike through this stretch!
