Near Austin, Nevada, there was a sign warning that the road was slippery for the next 14 miles. The reason? A plague of locusts (aka, Mormon Crickets). The road was literally crawling with them, and the highway department had had to use a snowplow to clear a path through them the day before. Glad I wasn't riding my bike through this stretch!
